When a reaper comes to collect Wallace Price from his own funeral, Wallace suspects he really might be dead.
Instead of leading him directly to the afterlife, the reaper takes him to a small village. On the outskirts, off the path through the woods, tucked between mountains, is a particular tea shop, run by a man named Hugo. Hugo is the tea shop’s owner to locals and the ferryman to souls who need to cross over.
But Wallace isn’t ready to abandon the life he barely lived. With Hugo’s help he finally starts to learn about all the things he missed in life.
When the Manager, a curious and powerful being, arrives at the tea shop and gives Wallace one week to cross over, Wallace sets about living a lifetime in seven days.
I’ve read three books by Klune now and I’ve loved them all in different ways. I’m really excited for this next one! Under the Whispering Door is expected on September 21st 2021.
I’m *so* excited for this one and almost cried when I got an email approving me for the ARC 😂
Oh, that’s so awesome! Can’t wait to see your thoughts on it. 😀
that cover is beautiful. It sounds great.
Yeah, I really love the cover for this one too. 😀
I want to read this so, so badly! I requested it on Netgalley ages ago but it hasn’t been approved yet. I am even considering emailing the publisher and begging!
Oh no, hopefully you’ll get an approval for it soon! Whenever you get to it, I hope you love it. I’m really excited for it too. 🙂
If they approve me for it I will literally drop whatever I am reading to start it lol!
My fingers are crossed for you!
I’ve never read Klune but I need to!
Well, one I can unequivocally recommend without any caveats is The House on the Cerulean Sea. I hope you get a chance to read Klune soon!
I want to check this out too! I’d be lying if the cover wasn’t a huge reason 😀
Yeah that cover is fantastic haha. 😀
I’m really excited for this one, too – especially after loving The House in the Cerulean Sea so much!
Yeah, that one was so lovely. I think this one will be a bit different because all Klune’s books that I’ve read so far have been but they all have a signature…lovely emotion about them so I can’t wait.
My NetGalley request for this has been sitting in limbo for ever and I would like them to just decide to approve me already!! (or reject me so I can slink off into a corner and cry lol).
Oh no. I hope you get it! Or at least get word one way or the other.
