Hi all, hope you all had a very pleasant weekend. Turns out the joke’s on me because my weekend marathon of reading wasn’t very successful. I did manage to spend a lot of time reading but it was all spent on this webtoon (My Dear Cold-Blooded King) which is sort of a fantasy romance reverse harem thingy (fantasy in that it’s a made up world but it also feels like a historical). It was utterly addictive and I just couldn’t stop reading it until I finished it which was late Sunday night. Whoops! To be fair it was a pretty long webtoon (something like 160some episodes) which is equivalent to roughly 28-32 collected volumes (if it were a manga). So….that’s a lot! I also read something like 70 episodes of another webtoon and a YA novel last week. So I did a lot of reading just…not what I have been ‘supposed’ to been reading.
In some ways it’s been nice just reading whatever but also I do have some books that are due for reviews. I neeeeeed to get them off my plate so I can just read whatever all the time!
Anyway. So I’m reading the same books I was reading last week. I am just barely into Gods of Jade and Shadow by Silvia Moreno-Garcia but I love the prose so far–totally into the voice of the author in this one. I also did make a bit of progress on The Jasmine Throne by Tasha Suri but then got distracted by webtoons! And I actually made a ton of progress on The Ruin of Kings by Jenn Lyons thanks to my craft project and I’m actually hoping I can finish this up by mid-week as I only have about six and a half hours left on the audio (this book is sooooo much fun!).
I honestly don’t know how this week will go. I’m hoping I can get myself back on track with my reading soon. But not only that, all my blogging stuff. I’m so out of routine now and it feels weird. But I’m also still…in a bit of a weird headspace getting used to only having two cats now and the new routine in the house. Anywho. What is everyone else planning for this week? Way Too Fantasy 
I also miserably failed a readathon I set for myself this weekend. Went in with high ambitions to read three books and make solid headway on two others, and I–read a graphic novel. But I did get a good way through a few others, so, while I didn’t finish anything this weekend, I think I’ll be finishing up a lot this week, so that’s good, at least. Got a lot of plans for the last week of the month, too, before Pride hits and totally takes over all my mood reading vibes, haha.
It sounds like you made good progress though! I mean, unlike me who totally ignored they’re TBR in favor of a webtoon LOL.

Webtoons (and Animal Crossing lol) have spun me completely off my reading over the past week! I had grand plans but alas… 🤷🏻♀️ I haven’t jumped on Webtoons for ages because I always get sidetracked with it 😂 Can’t wait to hear your thoughts on Gods of Jade and Shadows (been on my TBR for way too long) and The Jasmine Throne as well! I’m just planning to be less distracted this week and hopefully, that works out for me lol hope you have a great week ahead!
Webtoons are so addictive–yes this is what happens to me. I wind up taking breaks for a while because when I do go to them I end up getting sucked in and can’t get out haha.
Good luck with less distractions–I think I could use that too haha.
Lol! Sometimes reading doesn’t go as planned. I have a book I’m buddy-reading but otherwise, I’m in the wonderful spot of trying to decide what to read next.
That seems to be the case for me a lot now days LOL. I think I’d love to be in the spot of ‘what do I want to read next’ instead of ‘oh look at all these books I’m supposed to be reading but am not currently in the mood for’ lol.
A reading marathon is still a reading marathon, no matter what you choose to read – and that webtoon sounds fun! 😉
