Hell all! Can’t believe we’re already entering the last week of February and 2021 will soon have two months behind it. Time is weird. Anyway, I once again had a pretty good week in reading last week, although it wasn’t quite as fruitful as the previous week. It’s hard to top that haha. I managed to finish off THREE books–one Romance and two SFF books.
For Valentine’s Day my husband bought me this cute mini-dollhouse kit that’s a takoyaki stand. It’s so cute! So I’ve been working on that here and there and it’s given me more audiobook time at home. Combining two hobbies is a win-win! Hopefully this will allow me to get through more audio and start getting my queue down and eventually I can think about getting my audible subscription back up and running. We’ll see, but so far it’s working out okay.
I wound up having off a day and a half extra last week due to the weather but because I was half working from home and also constantly trying to figure out if the weather was going to clear up enough for me to make it into work it felt like it was hard to focus and really get into anything. What a waste of a day! And then Saturday I wasn’t feeling well and took a nap in the early afternoon. So I’m still way behind in house work (look–something had to be sacrificed) and I’m a little behind in blog stuff (at least for me!). But hoping to catch up on things soon. *crossing my fingers*
In print (physical book) I’m still finishing up The Deepest Blue by Sarah Beth Durst. Enjoying that one a lot so far. It shouldn’t take me that long to finish it, it’s a surprisingly quick read, but I’ve let myself get distracted by other books (as one does).
In ebook format I’ll be starting The Unbroken by C.L. Clark. I was lucky enough to get an ARC of this one so I’m not putting it off! I’m going to buddy read this one with one of my friends on twitter so look out for that, should be fun.
In audio I’ve started Spirit’s End by Rachel Aaron which is the last of her Legend of Eli Monpress books. This is on my March TBR pile and is a bit of a longer audio so might as well start it a bit early since it might take a while for me to finish it up. It’s great being back in this world and I’m looking forward to seeing how this story ends! And I’m also excited about checking off another series from my list of ongoing series. π
So those are my plans, I’m hoping they work out. What are you reading this week? Leave a note in the comments, I’d love to chat!
I also have a copy of the Unbroken so I’ll have to keep my eye out for your comments on Twitter.
Lynn π
Hoping to start it today but depends how busy I am. *crosses fingers*
Ooh, that mini-dollhouse takoyaki stand is SO cute π That’s a lovely gift! Also, I totes can’t believe we’re in the last week of Feb already either. Where does the time go!? I’m really keen to hear what you think of The Unbroken. I’ve seen the cover around a fair bit and it looks really good! Happy reading, hope you have a good week ahead, Lisa! π
I’m having so much fun putting it together! I’m hoping I can finish it up by the end of this week but we’ll see. π
Yeah, time is just flying by while also dragging? It’s weird.
I’m hoping I love The Unbroken–I’ve heard good things so far. Thanks, Dini! Hope you have an excellent week as well. π
Oh my gosh, the takoyaki stand is another level of cuteness!! I want one!!! such a lovely gift!!
Thanks, it’s so adorable! I’m having fun putting it together so far. π
OMG that takoyaki stand dollhouse!!! Please take photos after you put it togetherπ
Of course I will! Hopefully I’ll have it done by the end of the week. *crossing my fingers*

Thanks, I’m having fun building it so far. π I’m hoping I enjoy The Unbroken too–I’ve heard good things!
Lol sacrificing house work to read is basically my entire existence π Iβm reading Phoenix Extravagant by Yoon Ha Lee at the mo and will probs finish it tonight it tomorrow and I have this whole week off work where I plan to read the entire Poppy War trilogy so expect me to be a husk of my former self after that.
Yeah same but at some point I’m going to have to clean LOL. It’s getting raggedy in here haha.
Oh, I’ve always wanted to read something by Yoon Ha Lee–hope you enjoy it! A week off to read sounds delightful, enjoy! I still need to read the last book of that series. I think I keep putting it off because I know it’s going to break me haha.
I was able to finish 3 books this week as well. I posted my week in books today if you want to check it out.

Three books is excellent!
Thank you!!
The dollhouse kit is really cute. The end of February really snuck up. I’ve only finished 1 book so far, smh.
It’s super cute and I’m having fun putting it together which is really surprising because I usually don’t have such patience LOL.
Yeah, February is a short month anyway but it really did go by fast! Hopefully you’ll be able to sneak in at least one more read before the end.
Look at you getting reading done, that’s fantastic. I also have been avoiding responsibilities to read and after the longest slump? I’ll take it lol. Happy reading this week and that dollhouse is too cute!
Sometimes depression works out for me? Bury myself into a book or a mindless project is definitely a coping mechanism for me lol. (Honestly depression is probably one of the reasons I’m also avoiding actual responsibilities….) So yeah, I get it. I hope your reading picks up soon, Kal! Slumps are the worst. β€
Depression has two modes that are polar opposites lol. I’m reading a bit better than I have in months, so I’ll take it!
It really does! Glad to hear that, it’s progress at least so it’s a good thing.
Your St. Valentine gift is the cutest thing ever!!! π
Thank you! I’m having a lot of fun putting it together and already thinking about which kit I want to get next. π
Oh my god I’m DYING at the takoyaki stand, look at that octopus!!! I love tiny building kits so much. Can you take out all the little food items inside? A++ husbanding. And I hope you love The Unbroken! I’m really looking forward to getting to it, hopefully soon lol
It’s so cute! I didn’t even know these existed until the other day and now I’m obsessed LOL. Everything gets glued down so you can’t really take anything out to play with it once it’s together, it’s more for the visuals lol. I’m having so much fun putting it together! I think I’ll be finished this weekend. *crosses fingers*
Thanks, I’m enjoying The Unbroken so far, even though I’m not super far in yet. Had some unexpected things come up during the week. Hoping to catch up this weekend haha. Hope you get to check it out!
Aww thats probably for the best lol. I’d play with them constantly and probably lose them. Have you seen the YouTube channel where the guy makes tiny meals with tiny kitchen gadgets for his hamster? Imagine a takoyaki stand for hamster pedestrians π₯Ί
No, I didn’t see that but now I’m going to look it up! There’s also a channel where someone just assembles these miniatures to music and I find that oddly satisfying lol.
Yeah!! He also makes like, cathedrals and mines for his hamster, it’s wild.
(Pls don’t block me for sharing links wordpress)
Omg haha
Huzzah for finishing a series! I’m cranking through A Desolation Called Peace (man I love this book) and then I’ll probably bounce over to the Spellslinger series to keep working on that!
Yeah, I’m always excited to mark another series off my massive list of ongoing series lol. π
So glad you’re loving the new Martine!
