Lark spent the first twenty-four years, nine months, and three days of his life training for a righteous quest: to rid the world of monsters. Alongside his partner Kane, he wore the cage and endured the scourge in order to develop his innate magic. He never thought that when Kane left, he’d next see him in the company of FBI agents and a SWAT team. He never dreamed that the leader of the Fellowship of the Anointed would be brought up on charges of abuse and assault.
He never expected the government would tell him that the monsters aren’t real–that there is no magic, and all the pain was for nothing.
Lark isn’t ready to give up. He is determined to fulfill his quest, to defeat the monsters he was promised. Along the way he will grapple with the past, confront love, and discover his long-buried truth.
This one sounds pretty amazing, plus I love the cover! The concept has me really intrigued though so I’m looking forward to seeing what this one is all about. First, Become Ashes is expected April 6th, 2021 from Tor.com.
I’m on the fence about this one. I absolutely adored DOCILE, and this sounds interesting, but not sure it’s quite the read for me. I’ll likely wait for a few reviews.
That sounds like a reasonable plan!
I’m a little hesitant about this because I HATED Docile (sorry Bob). Well hate is maybe too strong. But I am curious and will most likely try it😁
Maybe this one will be more your speed–I guess we’ll find out LOL. 🙂
Daaaaaamn, this sounds soooo awesome!!! thanks for sharing!!
You’re welcome!
Woah, I’m already intrigued! I never read Docile (wasn’t really my kind of book) but this sounds more my speed. Thanks for sharing!💜
If you check it out, I hope you enjoy it
Curious about this one too! Too much on my plate though, might wait for reviews of this one before I decide 😀
That sounds like a good plan!
I like the sound of this one – although I’m totally cutting back on review requests. this next year.
Lynn 😀
I get that! I’ve been cutting back all this year and it feels great.
