This Week in Reading: Great Mood, Great Reads

Hi all! How is December going for you so far? I’m still very much mood reading and very much enjoying it! I finished three books last week, two SFF books and one romance. I am close to finishing off Borne by Jeff VanderMeer in audio as well and should have that wrapped up by end of day.

Other than reading I’m working on getting my house together as we’re having my in-laws over for dinner next week and then my parents over for Christmas. Tiny gatherings since we’re all avoiding larger parties this year. I’ll admit I was in a lazy mood this past weekend and instead of working on house stuff I totally neglected it and just laid around all day. Sunday I didn’t even get out of my pjs!

I’ve also been continuing to catch up on my blogging! I’ve gotten some more posts pre-scheduled and a new calendar for next year started and I’m trying my best to stay ahead of the game. And even though I’m still mood reading I’ve also accepted a couple of review requests. But never fear, these are books I’d probably be mood reading anyway so it should be fine. *crosses fingers*

This week in audio I’m listening to Blue Angel by Phil Williams. This is the second book in his Ordshaw series. I really enjoyed the first one of the series so I’m happy to check out the sequel and see how it goes!

In print I started The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V.E. Schwab. I don’t have many thoughts on this yet but it combines some things that I’m familiar with while also throwing in some totally new and interesting things. I’m not far in yet but really looking forward to seeing where this story goes!

And that’s it for this week! I’m not sure what else this week will bring but I’m sure to be catching up on housework since I was so neglectful over the weekend. πŸ˜‰ What are you reading this week? Leave a note in the comments, I’d love to chat!

Oh nice! I made one in excel–buying one probably would have been easier now that I think about it LOL!!! I definitely already have things planned for January–gotta stay ahead of the game. πŸ˜‰
Thanks, Tammy! So far I’m enjoying it!

Having a calendar for blogging has been a huge game changer for me. I shift things around a lot but it’s been amazing to help me keep organized.
Thanks, Lynn! I’m enjoying it so far. πŸ™‚

Oooh, I can’t wait to see what you think of Addie LaRue! I absolutely adored it, so hoping you do, as well! I finally finished reading Two Towers, but really need to kick my butt into high gear and get started on Return of the King so I can have it finished before end of year!

I’m enjoying it so far! The writing style is amazing. I’ve read some of Schwab’s books before but the style of this one feels very unique and I’m into it. πŸ™‚
      Enjoy your Tolkien reread!

So far, everyone I know who reads fantasy seems to love Addie LaRue, so I’m curious to see if that ends up being the same for you too. I do want to read it.
So far, my week is going well. I love working from home, but now it’s getting dull and I’m majorly bored.

So far I am loving it. But it does feel like it’s taking a while for the story to actually get going (because of the structure) but then I am also somehow loving they style of prose? I’m only about 100 pgs in though. πŸ™‚

Ugh, I know what you mean. When I was WFH for 2.5 months earlier in the year I wound up cleaning out my entire office/craft room with a fine tooth comb and reorganizing two of my closets, out of boredom LOL.

Oh, you are really doing great with your blogging!! I am constantly lagging behind lately, but I hope to do better!!
And I am behind with house chores too (and, since it is me, it is not a novelty) but I planned to do some more in depth cleanings on Sunday and then spent my day bingereading a book… Oh well!

      Thank you!
I stress sooooo much when I’m behind that I try to stay ahead now and it feels a lot better for me that way, haha.
Oh I am definitely behind on chores. But that feels normal…LOL. Good luck with your cleaning and reading!

Ugh housework, I happily delay it for as long as I can which often results in frantic deep cleaning the day before my mother visits πŸ™‚
My review list for early next year is already looking crowded …oops!

Wishing you a great reading week
