This Week in Reading: Bit of a Slump

Well, perhaps I got overconfident with all my weeks of good reading in a row because I hit bit of a slump for almost all of the week. I managed to finish one book, only because it was in audio. Womp womp. We’ve still been busy dealing with renovation stuff as the bathroom is almost done now and work has been stressful with worry about possibly going out of business becoming more of a reality. And I’ve been exhausted for some reason. Honestly had a hard time keeping my eyes open for most of the weekend! Ugh, I hate being so tired.

But, I think I’m back on track now with my reading at least. Hopefully. *crosses fingers*

I meant to at least be halfway through Dracula’s Child by J.S. Barnes but I didn’t really get a chance to start it yet because of my slump. Booooooo. Anyway, looking forward to this one still! Hoping I have better luck this week.

Next up, this one is a bit of a preview for my October TBR, but I’ll be listening to A Secret History of Witches by Louisa Morgan in audio. I’ve had this one in my audio queue for a little while now, so glad to finally have some motivation to dig into it.

That’s pretty much it for this week as I’m not planning on finishing either of these. Well, maybe the audio but I guess it depends on how much I want to listen and that’s never very predictable. What are your plans for this week? Leave a note in the comments, I’d love to chat!

Boo slumps! I totally get you though because that’s how I feel too. I think I might’ve pulled myself a bit out of it this weekend but I’m not going to get too excited just yet 😂 Hope this week of reading is better! And yay for your bathroom reno almost being done! ❤️

Luckily slumps don’t last forever. Sorry about all the stress you’re having right now🙁 At least you have some good books to look forward to. I really enjoyed A Secret History of Witches. Hope your week is good!

Thanks! Yeah, I think this was a short one but I guess we’ll see how things go this week. Things have just been a bit chaotic and I’ve been stressing about all sorts of things at once which doesn’t help. Just started Witches and I’m enjoying it so far, really loving the style. Thanks, Tammy! Hope your week is good too.

Aww, sorry about the slump. I hope it passes quickly.
I was hoping to start Mexican Gothic before September ends, but I didn’t want to force myself since I have two big, detailed books going already – Kushiel’s Dart and Forest Mage (a Robin Hobb book 😆😆)

Sorry you’re in a slump. I’m interested to see what you think of The Secret History of Witches. I just bought the paperback last week, and I’m planning to read it through October. 🎃

Glad to hear that your slump is over! Getting into a good book definitely helps. 🙂
Dracula’s Child looks great, hope to be starting today (I got distracted by a romance but I needed something to bring me out of the slump haha). Hope you enjoy!

I’m curious to see what you think of A Secret History of Witches! My friend gifted it to me for my birthday several months ago, and she absolutely loved it. I’m finishing up Girls of Paper & Fire (FINALLY) tonight, and then hopefully cracking open Queen of Volts tomorrow!
