Breen Kelly had always been a rule follower. So when her father left when she was twelve years old, promising to return, she waited. Now, more than a decade later, she needs to move forward. She can wait no longer. A summer trip to Ireland seems like the perfect next step. She never dreamed it would lead her through a portal to another world, where her latent powers of magick will be awakened, her true ancestry revealed and an epic battle against evil fought.
Aaaah, another new SFF selection from the queen, Nora Roberts. I really enjoyed her post-apocalyptic with magic series and this one looks to bringing in some other fantastic elements (portals!) so I’m excited to check this out. She’s great at writing characters, which is my jam, so I have high hopes! The Awaking is expected November 24th, 2020 from St. Martin’s Press.
I discovered her post-apocalyptic magic series late (Year One is sitting on my shelf), but the publisher has promised me there’s an early copy of this on the way. I’m excited! 🙂
I really loved Year One–it was definitely my kind of jam, I love apocalyptic stories. 🙂
Ooh, hellow! I had no idea she was coming out with another SFF book! I still have to finish her Chronicles of the One series, but I was pleasantly surprised by Year One! This also sounds really good. Thanks for putting it on my radar 😍
Me neither until I was trawling through Netgalley looking for new books and bam! I’m excited for this because I really liked her other fantasy series. 🙂 You’re welcome!
I missed out on her last series, so I’d love to get in on the ground floor with this one. Great choice😁
Year One is definitely worth checking out, that one has a strong start to it. I’m hoping this one will be the same. If so, we’re in for a good ride. 🙂
My Nora Roberts days are behind me I think, but I hope you’ll enjoy this one 😀
Hah, thanks! I hope I will too! 🙂
I’ve never read Nora Roberts, but this book sounds like fun. To TBR or not to TBR that is the questions…
I know this will be an autobuy for me but there’s always the tactic of waiting for reviews haha. I do that A LOT. 😀
I love her books, but my favorites are still her standalone novels and her JD ROBB books.
I hope you’ll LOVE it!!!

I keep meaning to read her JD Robb books!
Thank you! ❤
I don’t know why but I don’t think I’ve read a lot of books (if any now I think about it) by this author. Not sure why that is. Maybe I should start with this one.
Lynn 😀
Well she mainly writes romance but her previous series starting with The One was her first official SFF book–it still had some romance in it though. 🙂
