The young warrior and bard Liobhan has lost her brother to the Otherworld. Even more determined to gain a place as an elite fighter, she returns to Swan Island to continue her training. But Liobhan is devastated when her comrade Dau is injured and loses his sight in their final display bout. Blamed by Dau’s family for the accident, she agrees to go to Dau’s home as a bond servant for the span of one year.
There, she soon learns that Oakhill is a place of dark secrets. The vicious Crow Folk still threaten both worlds. And Dau, battling the demon of despair, is not an easy man to help.
When Liobhan and Dau start to expose the rot at the center of Oakhill, they place themselves in deadly danger. For their enemy wields great power and will stop at nothing to get his way. It will take all the skills of a Swan Island warrior and a touch of the uncanny to give them a hope of survival. . . .
Ooooooh, heckin’ yeah I am SO EXCITED for this book. I LOVED Harp of Kings and I love Marillier and I’m super hyped for book two of the Warrior Bard series. I can’t wait to see more character development and hopefully the lovely kind of slow burn romance that Marillier does so well. A Dance with Fate is expected September 1st 2020 from Penguin Random House.
I’ve loved Marillier’s other books, but Harp didn’t quite do it for me. It just felt kind of soft, like Marillier-lite fiction. I’ll still give this a read at some point, but I’m not as excited for it as I was Harp.
Oh, that’s too bad. I really loved it, it hit all the right points for me.
I missed reading Harp of Kings, but now I’m regretting that since this sequel was announced. Hope you love this just as much😁
Thanks! I really loved Harp of Kings and am super excited about this sequel. 🙂
WHOAAA!! THAT LOOKS AND SOUNDS AAMAZINGG, Lisaaa!! And it’s a series tooo?!? I AM SOLD! 😍😍😍
I really love Juliet Marillier–she’s become one of my favorite authors over the years. ❤
If you check this series out, hope you enjoy. 🙂
Harp of Kings is on my TBR! I hope you enjoy his sequel💜
Thanks, hope you enjoy Harp of Kings, I really liked that one. 🙂
Can’t wait to get my hands on this one!
I have such high hopes for it. 😀
I hadn’t heard of this, but a warrior and a bad sounds like an interesting combination. I’m super curious to see how that works. Guess I should probably check out book 1, huh? 😉
I really loved the first book. Marilliar likes to play with celtic folklore and the fae in her books so if that’s your jam, definitely recommend trying this series out.
That is soooo definitely my jam. ❤
Oh drat – I’m so behind, and yet I’m always so excited when I see this author’s name.
Must. Read. Faster.
Lynn 😀
I feel the same way, I’m super behind on new releases!
