The Sunday Post #30

thesundaypost

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

Random News And Goings-On

Second verse, same as the first! Last week is a bit of a blur. After finishing up organizing all my craft supplies I decided to start working on one of the many craft projects I’ve been thinking about doing forever. So…I’m trying to make a Regency style bonnet. Not sure how it’s going but it doesn’t look like total trash?

Here’s a twitter thread about it cuz I’m lazy.

And the latest one which I’ll probably be updating as I make more progress:

Anyway, we’ll see how this goes because I literally forgot how to sew when starting out so….yeah.

My plan is also to go to the garden center and buy some plants for my garden so I can start working on that next week. I probably won’t get quite as many as I normally do, but just to have some plants on the porch this year would be an achievement I think. I need something to bring me joy during these crazy times. Despite being here with my husband 27/7 and chatting with my friends and coworkers online and through zoom I…think I might be getting kind of lonely? So I’m doing the best I can to keep busy. In fact when I’m NOT busy I just feel restless and depressed. So.

New Book Arrivals at Way Too Fantasy

I’ve acquired ZERO books this past week! Somehow my book buying ban is working! Okay wait, I’m lying. I did buy The Spare by Miranda Dubner, an alt-history romance novel featuring some made-up royals and several romances in one book. I’ve already read this one and I loved the romances even if a) I think the stories would have been better served if they’d each gotten a little more room to breathe and b) things were wrapped up a little too neatly at the end even for an HEA. Still, it was a pretty enjoyable read.

That’s the news for this week, see you next time!

I’m so impressed by how organized your crafting things are! I wish I could be that organized. xD But my brain rebels. A regency bonnet sounds super neat! I hope it comes out the way you expect. I’m also super impressed that you got zero new books this week. I think I’d explode if I ever did that.

Well, I’ve always tried to keep them somewhat organized but I actually went through everything the week before last, pulled everything out, resorted it, got rid of some stuff, and reorganized. It was so satisfying lol. Then I was like ‘oh, I should do a craft now that this is all organzied.’ LOL Thank you! I hope it comes out well too, we’ll see. I haven’t had time to work on it the last few days so maybe the weekend. 🙂 Hah, never fear I bought at least two this week so far and a pre-order arrived in the mail. 😉

I’m a few days late to this one so I hope you were able to get to the garden centre – it’s definitely been the weather for it at the moment. Wow, your craft box looks so pretty! My knitting is pretty much jumbled together and shoved in the wardrobe, aha!

Thanks, I did! My pots are all planted now and I have a few things left I have to find more pots for somehow… (this happens every year, I don’t know why I am surprised hah).

Thanks! I did a bit of a konmari and went through EVERYTHING in this room and reorganized it and purged a bit including crafting supplies and it felt so good to get it all organized that I was inspired to do a craft! 🙂 Before that mine was…a bit jumbled to say the least.

Can’t wait to see how your hat works out.
I need to buy some plants. Before all this crazy started I bought six hanging baskets but now I’m in isolation and have no plants to put in them. Boo.
    Lynn 😀

I had the opposite problem – I bought plants to put in hanging baskets since I have all these free garden hooks now (took down some of my bird feeders because there was a mouse on the porch) and realized I only had one hanging basket left. Welp.
