What a week. I’ve been super busy once again without much time or focus for reading. I did manage to finish, well, ZERO books. *crying* Because of this I’m super behind with my bingo reading which is due *checks calendar* tomorrow night. So I now have two days to finish about 400 pages, I need to really hope for the best here. If I don’t make it, I guess I don’t make it. This is the first time I’m in real danger of not finishing my r/fantasy bingo card since I started the challenge back in 2015. WELP.
On a positive note, at least I did manage to read 5 short stories for that bingo square this weekend. The only other thing I read was the entirety of available episodes of the webtoon Lore Olympus which is simply fantastic. It’s a retelling of the Hades/Persephone myth and it’s got a lot of other myths woven into it as the cast is the Greek pantheon. The artwork is interesting and the story is lovely and sometimes heartbreaking, but also made me laugh out loud several times. It’s just the kind of comfort reading I needed.

Trying to rush and finish up The Scar by China China Miéville. Honestly terrified I’m not going to finish this on time. I’ve been making progress but it’s been very slow going! Crossing my fingers I’ll be able to pull off a miracle here. So far, I’m enjoying it. There are lots of interesting and weird things, such as literal book pirates!
Still have Riot Baby by Tochi Onyebuchi on the deck next. Not much else to say other than I’m looking forward to checking this out and reading something on the shorter side.
In audio, I actually made decent, if slower than normal, progress on Jade City by Fonda Lee last week. It’s been a little tough to focus on it if I’m honest but I think I get the gist of what’s happening in it and I’m enjoying the characters. This is a complex story with a full cast of characters and one that has an interesting magic in it as well.
So, that’s it! I’m going into April SUPER far behind in my reading. I kind of want to just scrap all my scheduled reading, but I have made a few commitments so I’m trying my best to stick to those at least. What are you reading this week? How are you doing? Way Too Fantasy 
I am curious to read your thoughts on Jade City once you are done with it! I have this book on my TBR and I hope to read it, sooner or later. At the moment I am going to finish Night Watch by T. Pratchett and I am looking forward to it! I had to stop the reading because I am reading it with a book club, and stopping the reading midway for it was just a torture!

I’m enjoying it so far, it’s definitely an epic with a good amount of cast and a lot of details you have to follow, which isn’t good for my attention span right now, but I’m enjoying the story! It’s got some great family stuff in it too, for essentially a story about a mafia like group. 🙂 Oh, that sounds fun! I love Pratchett but haven’t gotten to that one yet, although I did read Guards! Guards! Hope you can get back to it soon!
Similarly I’m behind because my concentration has been shot. I hope to catch up this month.

I’m sorry you’re behind. That’s a lot of pressure and hopefully you can catch up. I certainly know the feeling! I’m a little ahead with my reading right now, but it won’t last forever🤣
Yeah, it’s just a lot of everything right now. I’m hoping that after this week and a couple of events I have going on are done with, things might ease up a little *crossing my fingers* Good thing I was so ahead on everything before! LOL
I haven’t finished a book since last Thursday either and I’m starting to feel a little niggling guilt in the back of my head about it 😂 Jade City is also really slow going for me right now… Actually it has been slow going since I picked it up. I’m enjoying it too but I don’t know why I’m reading it very slowly… I’m quite picky about audiobooks but would you recommend it (and the narrator)?
The narrator is good but also I really am slow going with this one too. Not sure what it is either. I think I just want to read fluff right now and this isn’t fluff.
Ooooh I’ve always seen ads for and snippets of Lore Olympus but I never knew what it was, but it always catches my eye! I think I will have to read it now 😀 Thanks!

I’m almost finished! I think if I were more in a reading mood I’d be enjoying it more, but it’s good. I can see why people love it so much, it’s very much a mafia/gang story with magic and martial arts. I wish I could connect to it more but I think it’s just my mood at the moment. You’d probably like this one.
