This Week in Reading: Reading Like the Wind

Somehow in the last week I managed to finish six books–one romance novella, one SFF audiobook, three short sff novels and one longer sff novel. I mean…I read a lot. But it’s easy to do when books are pure fun! I finished off two more squares for my r/fantasy bingo and then got so addicted to this one series I had to read the other books in it right away, did not expect that to happen. Welp. That being said I’m still working on one book from last week because I concentrated on ebooks last week (so much easier to sneak reading time in at work that way) and then when I got home after work I didn’t feel much like reading. But I did a ton of reading over the weekend in between other things.

So, I’m still working on A Heart so Fierce and Broken by Brigid Kemmerer. I’m loving being back in this world, I just wish I had given this more attention last week so I could finish it up. As is, here we are. I’m about fifty pages in. I suspect once I fully commit and stop being so distracted I’ll fly right through it.

I started The Rise of the Magicks by Nora Roberts at the end of last week in audio. I’m so happy with this series, it’s so much fun and full of hope with good people fighting to take back the world from jerks after an apocalypse. I love it. So far there’s lots of battle strategy and I love that stuff. I’m already halfway through as I did some listening this weekend while working on some projects at home. Hopefully will finish this one up in the next couple of days.

As for next reads, I think in print I’m going to check out The Utterly Uninteresting and Unadventurous Tales of Fred, the Vampire Accountant by Drew Hayes next. But there are plenty of other vampire books to choose from too, so I might go with something else, I guess it depends where my mood takes me. There’s also a new romance novel coming out that I’ve been looking forward to since forever so I expect I’ll be reading that as soon as it’s downloaded onto my kindle app. In audio, I’ll probably start with Dune next so I can be ready for my book club meeting in March.

Those are my plans this week! I hope I have another productive week in reading. I feel like since the sun is starting to stay out a little later every day I feel some of my energy coming back and I’m getting re-energized. 🙂  What are you reading this week? Leave a note in the comments, I’d love to chat!

Wow, you are reading like the wind! That’s amazing. I’m about to finish my first audio book (!!) and it’s been an experience? Still not sure audio is for me but I’m going to try a few more before I make up my mind.
