Spring Cleaning Tag

I got this tag from Kal over at Reader Voracious. If you’re not reading her blog already, I highly recommend checking it out, lots of great content and enthusiasm for books.

Rules:

  • Please link back to Daniel @ Page to Page
  • Respond to the scenarios
  • Tag 5 people (or however many you like)

It’s time to make your bed, but you’re going to have some friends over later and want to pick the perfect book to place on your nightstand for them all to see that you’re “reading”. Which book do you choose?

Oh, I don’t have one book out, I have them all. I mean, I sleep in my library. But also, I have a cart full of books in my living room next to my side table which also has two piles of books on it. But I’d have whatever I’m actually currently reading on top, which right now is Mist, Metal, and Ash by Gwendolyn Clare. There is no judgement with my friends, or need to impress, they know I’m a fantasy nerd. 🙂

Oh no! The house needs dusting, but you just can’t put that book you’re reading down! What book would you buy on audio just so you could continue the story while cleaning?

Any book that was super engaging and I read in a day. I think definitely The Cruel Prince and / or The Wicked King by Holly Black. They were so good! I read each of them in a day over a weekend (yes, totally neglecting my housework, whoops!).

Darn it! The ceiling is leaking! Turns out Mass-Market Paperbacks are the best things to soak water up! Which popular book do you use to soak up the water?

Probably Game of Thrones by George R. R. Martin. That thing is huge and I’m sure the pages would hold a lot of water. Or maybe Stephen King’s The Stand. I have both on standby. 🙂

Bathrooms need a good scrubbing, and your 2007 Cosmos are a little outdated and need replacing. What book do you place in the bathroom for some light reading for when people need to take care of business?

Well, believe it or not I do actually have books in my bathroom. For their reading pleasure I have a copy of The Phantom Tollbooth by Norton Juster, Uppity Women of Medieval Times by Vicki Leon, The Fangirl Life by Kathleen Smith, one of the Uncle John’s Bathroom Reader‘s (can’t remember which one), and What If by Randall Munroe. I think there may be one or two other books in there but I can’t remember. 😀

Family is coming over, but you have no idea what to make for dinner! You read somewhere that tearing up the last chapter of a book whose ending you hated and sprinkling it in a casserole dish makes for the perfect meal! Which book do you choose?

Probably most recently A Pocket Full of Tinder by Jill Archer. Eh, I didn’t hate the ending, but I definitely wish things hadn’t happened as they did. I still love the series but, man, that ending was hard to take.

Organization is key, right? When it comes time to organize your bookshelf, you realize you have enough room (and money) to get three new books! Which books do you buy?

Well, I literally bought like four new books this week so… um. Let’s see, maybe some books on my ‘want to read’ list that I haven’t bought yet.

  • Dark Shores by Danielle L. Jensen – because everyone keeps talking about it.
  • Beauty and the Clockwork Beast by Nancy Campbell Allen – because why haven’t I read this yet?
  • Ace of Shades by Amanda Foody – because this looks like a lot of fun!

Finally, some peace and quiet! But, before you can relax, you realize you forgot to send your Aunt a thank you gift for the lovely “ADULT LIFE FOR DUMMIES” book she gave you for Christmas (maybe she’s trying to tell you something?). What book do you send to her to show her how much (this is sarcasm) you appreciate her gift?

Because I’m a little shit, I would probably send the same book right back to her. Clearly, she needs it.

As per usual, not tagging anyone but if you feel like filling this one out, consider yourself tagged!

Ooh, I LOVE Ace of Shades by Amanda Foody! I currently have the sequel sitting on my book cart next to my bed, and I absolutely cannot wait to pick it up.
