Well, last week was another tough one. I didn’t get much reading done at all the first four days of the week because I was busy dealing with car stuff. And then I didn’t get much reading done this weekend because I was busy reorganizing a large chunk of my books which involved moving a lot of things and shifting books around, cleaning bookcases, etc. Sunday was pretty much a bust because I spent the morning running around on errands and didn’t get back home until the afternoon and when I did get back I had to do a few other things around the house. I also maybe got distracted a bit because we started watching Umbrella Academy on Netflix. (whoops!)
I’m still not finished everything and the house is kind of a wreck so looks like I’ll still be doing a lot of housework this week after work in order to make this place presentable for company on Sunday for my book club meeting. Still, I did manage to finish up three books: Illuminae by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff, Cast in Oblivion by Michelle Sagara, and Sisters of the Fire by Kim Wilkins.
This week I’ll be working on three books. First up in audio is Bloodwitch by Susan Dennard. I have kind of a love/meh relationship with this series, but am hopeful I’ll love this one because one of my favorite characters is Aeduan. So far I’m about 3 hours in and I really can’t say much of what’s happened so a rewind might be in order! I really have problems paying attention sometimes, sigh.
Next up, I started Where Oblivion Lives by T. Frohock. I have never read any of the Los Nefilim novellas before but you really don’t have to read them in order to pick up this one. I’m only a few pages into this one but really enjoying it so far.
Lastly, I’ll be reading Lost Stars by Claudia Gray–this is our book club selection this time around. So I definitely have to have this one read by Sunday! I don’t usually read a lot of tie-in novels, but I’m looking forward to this one, I’ve heard great things about Claudia Gray’s work in the Star Wars universe.
Besides cleaning like a madwoman and reading like a madwoman, I’m hoping to sneak in some blogging time at work this week. Hoping I have an uneventful week this time around! What is everyone else reading this week? Leave me a note in the comments, I’d love to hear from you. π
Well, three books and a whole bunch of chores = very well done imo.
Plus – sorting out books and shelves is so time consuming isn’t it – because you get really sucked into looking at the books all over again and so it takes ages.
Lynn π
Thanks! Yeah, it really does take forever haha. π
I’ve heard great things about Claudia Gray’s Star Wars books too! I hope you love itπ
Thanks, Tammy!
Oh!!! I really liked Lost Stars. Just fun to relive all the great moments from different POVs.
That’s what my husband said too, I’m looking forward to it. π
Sounds like you had a super busy week! I am glad you found some time to sneak in a little bit of reading tho! I hope your upcoming week is better!
Yeah it was super busy! Thanks!
Still figuring my next read out but guessing I should get to an ARC at some point?! Or HP2 for the readalong… or a fantasy for Devour Your TBR! Okay I have no excuse not to know what to pick up next…
Hah! I know exactly what you mean though! Part of the problem is that I’m a mood reader and sometimes I’m just not in the mood for what I *should* be reading.
Yes so much!
Good luck with the cleaning π I hope you get some reading time too, or reward time π
Thank you!
Well three books is still a good number! π Lost Stars sounds amazing, I love Star Wars and I’ve only heard great things about this tie-in novel!
Yeah. Looking back three isn’t bad AT ALL, but I have so many I should be reading and review requests I’m still behind on that I feel like no progress is being made lol.
I’ve heard great things about Lost Stars too, can’t wait to really get into it, only a few pages in so far. π
Ah yes, it’s the joy of book blogging, compared to the “rest of the world”, we read a lot but it really is never enough for all the new releases, the ARCs and the growing pile of backlist titles… xD
Yes, exactly!
I’ve read like nothing last week, wah! Back in slumpland. I think 2019 is the Year of the Slump for me!
Oh no! That’s no fun. I really don’t like slumps. I probably would have had a few over the last year if it wasn’t for audiobooks keeping me going. Hope you get your reading mojo back soon!
