I had a really great week in reading last week! I finished off Lovestruck by Kate Watson and The Spirit Rebellion by Rachel Aaron. I also read through all four books of the Vampire Knitting Club series by Nancy Warren (if you’re looking for a cozy mystery series featuring witches and vampires, this is it–and it’s such a delight). I’m currently sitting at 184 books read and only a couple weeks left to the month. Can I get to 200? I think it’s doable. So, what’s ahead for this week? Let’s see.
I started my Sailor MoonΒ manga marathon. Should be finished up with that pretty quickly because they don’t take that long to get through, although it is twelve volumes so maybe a couple of days?
I’m really starting Mage Against the Machine by Shaun Barger. Didn’t get a chance to get to it last week, got caught up in those vampire knitting books, so looking forward to digging into this one once I finish up my manga marathon.
I’m more than halfway through listening to Cold Days by Jim Butcher. Only one more regular Dresden Files book to go after this one! I’ve really been enjoying this series and I finally see what all the hype is about.
After I finish up that audibook, I think my next one might be Sea of Rust by C. Robert Cargill. I’ve been really into books about AI this year, so why not continue the trend?
Well, those are my loose plans, we’ll see what happens. π I’m also trying to spend time catching up on my blogging. So much end of year posts to do, and I’m really behind on reviews (of course, if I’m doing this right then you don’t really notice what’s going on behind the curtain all that much). It’s tough to balance trying to read all these books and still have time to write about them! I’m looking forward to reaching this goal though. 200 books or bust!Β I also have my company Christmas dinner Tuesday night (yay /s) so that is going to eat into some of my free time this week. Ack! Gotta love the holidays!
What is everyone else reading this week? Leave a note in the comments, I’d love to hear from you!
Hi! π The Vampire Knitting Club seems interesting (and I love the title!), I’ll check it out ASAP! π
Currently I am reading Legion by Brandon Sanderson, the volume with all the three novellas in it, and I am enjoying it a lot! And I am also reading Stuff Brits Like, and this is fun!
I really had fun with The Vampire Knitting Club, thought it was a lot of fun. Hope you enjoy!
I need to read more Sanderson! Glad you’re enjoying the novellas. π
I’m dying to read Sea of Rust, I hope you love it. Good luck hitting 200 books, wow that’s crazy!
Sea of Rust was recced to me by one of my friends when I said I was enjoying AI characters, knowing their taste I think I’ll like it. π
Thanks! It is crazy. Not sure how I’ve read so much this year haha.
I have it on my Kindle… it looks good!
It does! I’m looking forward to it.
Oh! Is Sailor Moon good? I just started my first manga ever and have been looking for a good series to get into!
It’s a classic in the magical girl genre! I think it all depends on what kinds of things you like though. SM can get a bit repetitive at times and is a bit silly, but I love the overall message of hope and friendship.
Okay! Thank you, I think I’ll check it out!
I want to read Sea of Rust one of these days. I loved the book I read by Cargill, though it was quite a bit different from this one
I’m starting it tomorrow so we’ll see how I like it. I haven’t read any of his stuff before.
I’m glad you had a good reading week last week! I hope you can find time to have another one this week! This time of year really is crazy! I have at least 1 party every weekend and my work Christmas party was on Wednesday
Luckily, I think I only have the one party tomorrow after work, then a get together with family on Christmas eve and Christmas day. So not too bad, phew! Hope you have a great week ahead and it’s not too crazy!
Curious to see what you’ll make of Mage Against the Machine. I really struggled with the first half, and it wasn’t until the two characters met up that I started enjoying myself!
I’ve seen a few mixed reviews, so I’m interested myself, lol. I’ll be sure to post a review!
Iβm currently reading Steelβs Edge by Ilona Andrews (finally! π). Looking forward to your review on Spirit Rebellion.
Oooh, I need to keep picking up more of their books, I’ve liked everything I’ve read by them so far. Hope you’re enjoying!
Thank you, yes – it might be the best one of the series so far. π
ooh good luck with your race to the finish! And glad you had a good reading week last week π
Thanks, appreciate it!
