This Week in Reading: That’s right, woodchuck-chuckers – it’s…GROUNDHOG DAY!

So I had a terrible week in reading last week and I’m pretty much right back where I started. I’m not really sure why I’m stalled. I think I’m having anxiety from various things. The weather very suddenly changed and we pretty much went straight from Summer into Winter (seriously, it was in the 80’s one day and in the 60’s the next). This has left me panicked about having to hurry up and bring some of my plants indoors, something I’d been putting off and was not exactly prepared for. And even though it was a couple of weeks ago I’m still winding down from book fest and starting to get anxiety about going to WFC. I also had DnD this weekend, which is fun and all but takes up half a day at least. So….yeah.

Also, work has been really busy. I was supposed to be able to look forward to the end of the week and the beginning of this week because our boss is away (I work in a very small office) and, hey, maybe I could get some reading done on the down low. But no, because half of everyone either called out or left early on Friday and the other main sales person will also be out on Monday now so that leaves me and two new people. Stress!

Anywho. Books.

So, hardly any reading. It’s a do-over week! The only thing I managed to finish is The Testament of Loki and I got about halfway through Of Noble Family. Both of those are on audio, so thank goodness for audiobooks or I wouldn’t have read anything last week. This week will be the same as last except once I finish up Of Noble Family I plan to start Turn Coat by Jim Butcher because I’m determined to finish up this series by the end of the year.

What’s everyone else reading this week? Leave a note in the comments, I’d love to hear from you!

I’m very much a lover of routine (I know, boring!) so when my routine is off I get stressed too. Hope you get more reading in this week! I’m reading Sawkill Girls and it’s really strange😁

My reading sucked the last two weeks. I’ve stayed on track with a year-long reading project of a study Bible (over 5K pages after accounting for all the notes and research documents at the end) but I finally put down a book I’d been wanting to read for well over thirty years… halfway through, I finally admitted that it just was not for me. However, I started another book series I’ve wanted to read for a while, The World of the Five Gods, and the first book, The Curse of Chalion, is intriguing me. (Well, the spot-on depiction of PTSD in its main viewpoint character Cazaril is intriguing. The rest of the story is just starting to coalesce and make itself apparent.) I also have a few short fiction magazines to read, including the new Broadswords and Blasters, and hopefully my week cooperates and I get a lot of time to peruse them.

That gif! 😀 Things haven’t been all that great with my reading schedule either. I feel like I’m super behind on ARCs and I’m trying to tamp down the anxiety. But I’m listening to the audiobook for Sadie right now and it’s probably the best audiobook I’ve listened to in a while!

Oh I hope things get better for you. The weather is so crazy at the moment. Supposedly, it will be back up in the 70s either tomorrow or Wednesday. This is the type of weather that gets people sick.

Busy busy busy here too – I think if it weren’t for audiobooks, I wouldn’t have gotten any reading done this week 🙂 Looking forward to your thoughts on Loki, that’s one I hope to be tackling soon. You’ve convinced me to do audio for it!

I know I wouldn’t have read anything without audiobooks last week lol–I’m so glad for them. Yay! I’m really interested to see what you think of it as well because you’re a gamer….and I’ll leave that little bit of a cryptic comment right there…lol. 🙂
