Ah, last week I had a pretty good week in reading. I finished up both audiobooks and one print book and started another one. I also went on another mini-book buying spree, some old and some new, and picked up a few new things from an audible sale so I should have another book haul post in the next week or so as well. Mostly this week will consist of reading and catching up on writing some reviews. I’m also kitten-sitting for one of my cousins while she’s away on vacation this week so I’m thinking I may take my book over there and hang out with kitties for a while. Reading/kitten therapy is the best.
The only print book I’ll be tackling this week is European Travel for the Monstrous Gentlewoman by Theodora Goss.Β This is the follow up to The Strange Case of the Alchemist’s Daughter. I enjoyed the first one quite a bit so I’m looking forward to diving into this one full force. Since it’s such a very large tome I don’t have any other books on my reading schedule for this week.Β Hoping I’ll have the time this week to finish it up but we’ll see!
The only other book on my schedule this week is The City of Brass by S.A. Chakraborty. I’ve been meaning to read this one for a while and I picked up a copy on audio recently. I think what made me most interested was the author tweeting out a long story about the original tale. This one is also a little bit of a longer book, I think the audio is something like nineteen and a half hours. If I manage to finish this up before the end of the week I have plenty of other audiobooks waiting in the wings, but I’m going to try and keep my goal realistic, with it only being a four day work week and that being when I get most of my audiobook listening in.
So, that’s my plan for this week. Feels so light only putting two books on there, but I’m trying not to get too ahead of myself. What is everyone else reading this week? Leave me a note in the comments, I’d love to hear from you! Happy reading!
I’m really curious to see how you like European Travel. I have to admit I started it but it didn’t grab me right away so I put it down (temporarily!)
I’ve heard a couple people say they thought it was too long, but we’ll see how it goes! π
Sounds like you’ll have a good week. I’m about to start Dragon Keeper and am considering what other book I’ll read with it since these days I tend to read at least 2 books at once.
Yeah, I’m pretty much always reading two simultaneously now days lol. Dragon Keeper sounds interesting! Have a good week!
Thanks! You too.
City of Brass is one I kind of stopped in the middle of, for reasons I can’t remember, so I should really give it a try again. And reading with kittens sound like the best way to spend the week–I’m super jealous π
I’ve kind of heard mixed things about The City of Brass. Some people absolutely loved it while others seemed very meh about it. I’m a couple hours in and so far so good, there’s still a lot of book ahead of me though lol. π
Yep, I need to get started on European Travels too, but a big honking tome like that, I gotta work up the nerve to it, you know? π
Exactly! Lol
I really like the sound of the Goss books and wish I’d read the first, as it is, I’ll probably end up skipping them because I’ll be hideously behind. City of Brass, I had a few reservations but overall really enjoyed it and the setting is great.

Yeah, and the second Goss book is a TOME. I may have gotten distracted from reading it by Murderbot lol. I’m enjoying City of Brass.
