This Week in Reading: Finishing up Chaos Mages, Lady Astronauts, Ghosts, Witches, and even more Mages!

Last week was a pretty good week in reading for me. At least in audiobooks. I managed to finish up The Gospel of Loki by Joanne M. Harris, Traitor’s Blade by Sebastien de Castell, and most of Practical Magic by Alice Hoffman all in audio. I also read Record of a Spaceborn Few by Becky Chambers in print. I really hoped to get more print reading in but I wound up being super busy this weekend with visiting family, D&D, another trip to urgent care (this time it’s my husband with an ear infection), and various errands. I’m kind of surprised I managed to finish even one book in print, all things considered!

This week is going to be another busy one because I have a baseball game to attend on Wednesday night, but at least my weekend is free so hopefully I should be able to play catch up then. Nevertheless I’ve set myself another super high goal because I’m me and I guess I have high expectations for myself. O.o

First up, I’ll be finishing up Clock’s Watch by Michael Reyes. This should be a quick read but I’ve only just started it. I’m so behind in my review requests and I feel terrible for that. :/

Next, hopefully I’ll have time to get through all of The Calculating Stars by Mary Robinette Kowal. This is one I’ve been looking forward to for a while so I’m excited to start it this week. I usually breeze through Kowal’s books pretty fast so I’m hoping I’m able to get through the entire book this week.

Finally, if I’m able to finish off both of those I’ll be starting another review request, Your Ghost or Mine by Shannon Kostyal. This one has a bit of a romance in it so I’m excited to read it. I’m probably being a little ambitious adding this one to my list for this week, but we’ll see what happens. ๐Ÿ™‚

In audio, I’ll be finishing up Practical Magic by Alice Hoffman. Picked this one up during and audible sale. I love the movie and I’m always interested to see what the original material is like. No surprise whatsoever: the book is different. But I’m enjoying the book very much and for different reasons than the movie.

Next up in audio I’ll be starting The Tethered Mage by Melissa Caruso. I picked this one up a while ago after a friend said that I’d probably like it but just haven’t gotten around to it yet (story of my life). This one is a nineteen hour audio so it’ll probably be the last thing I get through this week.

So, there’s my overly ambitious week in reading! What is everyone else reading this week? Leave me a note in the comments section, I’d love to hear from you! Happy reading!

I usually don’t have too much trouble getting the the audio. It’s the print books that always trip me up! One is really short and I’m about 40% through, the other two should be quick reads but we’ll see. I guess I just like to push myself. Also, trying to catch up on all of these review requests. ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜…

Oh no, I hope your husband is okay! And that does look like a hefty reading list–good luck! I’m so behind on ARCs so I’ll be chopping away at some of the overdue ones this week. My current read is about people who can time travel to their past and future selves. ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks, he’ll be fine he’s just a big baby when he’s sick lol. Luckily? I’m not at the point where I have *too* many ARCs or I’d probably feel guilty. I already feel bad for being a week or two behind on review requests lol. I love time travel stories! Hope you enjoy!
