Favorite Five YA Fantasy Novels

Sorry this is late again, been dealing with a lot of stuff this week, again. I’ll be so happy when things settle down a bit and get back to normal around here. 😀

Ok, so this list was a tough one to make because I do read a good amount of YA and it’s just tough to choose favorites! So here are some I love.

  • The Star-Touched Queen by Roshani Chokshi

I pretty much love everything about this book from the story itself to the prose. If you like myths or fairytales, I’d recommend trying this one out because it very much reads like one.

  • Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo

Ok, so I really fell in love with this duology. I definitely love the second book a lot better than the first (I thought the heist stuff was so much better in book 2) but the characters are so much fun and the world is interesting and a bit different from a lot of other things out there.

  • Red Rising by Pierce Brown

Red Rising is an amazing crazy ride from start to finish. Highly recommend the audio if you’re into audio books at all because the narrator does such a fabulous job with these books.

  • The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater

This is another series that’s great in audio book format. Again, the characters here make this series for me, but I also loved the prose and the rather dream-like quality of some of the storytelling.

  • The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue by Mackenzi Lee

This book made me laugh, it made me cry, and it took me on quite the journey. Sure there were some things that could have been done a little better (that throw-away fantasy sub-plot) but overall, this was such a great read for me and I loved it.

Wow, that was tough. I probably could have made a list of thirty books or more for this one. But that’s my list for this week! What are some of your favorite YA Fantasy novels? Leave a note in the comments, I’d love to hear from you!

Wonderful list here and all on my list. Come hell or high water, I’m reading Six of Crows this year! Glad you loved them all. 😁

I love Six of Crows. I’ve tried reading The Raven Boys twice and put it down each time, but I still have the urge to keep trying? I think I just so badly want to love it like everyone else does–maybe one day it will click, haha. The Star-Touched Queen is one I’m really interested in.

I know what you mean because I do that too. Everyone I know loves Lord of the Rings and it took me forever to get through it, kept trying and getting bored by it. It happens, not every book is a fit for every reader and sometimes timing is a factor too. 🙂

So many great books to check out! I saw Red Rising and thought about getting it, but I hadn’t heard any reviews from it and decoded to get another instead. I may have to go back and get it now.
