Fall in love, break the curse.
It once seemed so easy to Prince Rhen, the heir to Emberfall. Cursed by a powerful enchantress to repeat the autumn of his eighteenth year over and over, he knew he could be saved if a girl fell for him. But that was before he learned that at the end of each autumn, he would turn into a vicious beast hell-bent on destruction. That was before he destroyed his castle, his family, and every last shred of hope.
Nothing has ever been easy for Harper Lacy. With her father long gone, her mother dying, and her brother barely holding their family together while constantly underestimating her because of her cerebral palsy, she learned to be tough enough to survive. But when she tries to save someone else on the streets of Washington, DC, she’s instead somehow sucked into Rhen’s cursed world.
Break the curse, save the kingdom.
A prince? A monster? A curse? Harper doesn’t know where she is or what to believe. But as she spends time with Rhen in this enchanted land, she begins to understand what’s at stake. And as Rhen realizes Harper is not just another girl to charm, his hope comes flooding back. But powerful forces are standing against Emberfall . . . and it will take more than a broken curse to save Harper, Rhen, and his people from utter ruin.
I love Beauty and the Beast and I love re-tellings of the tale, so I am really looking forward to this one! Romance is usually a plus for me. I have high hopes for this book. 🙂
A Curse So Dark and Lonely comes out January 29th 2019 from Bloomsbury.
I’ve been seeing this one! I almost requested it on Netgalley. I’m still thinking about it. It’s a pretty long book I think and I love retellings too. Hope you love it! ❤
I almost requested it too but I want to catch up on my other review copies first so…lol. Thanks!
I love B&B retellings as well, I’m very excited for this too😁 And it’s not that far away!
Yep, not a long wait! Always interesting to see people’s takes on B&B. Last year I read Heart’s Blood by Juliet Marillier which was an interesting take on it that made the beast character less of an a-hole which I appreciated. And right now I’m reading In The Vanisher’s Palace by Aliette de Bodard which is another B&B retelling…with a dragon as the beast!
This sounds super exciting! I love a retelling, too, and Beauty and the Beast- yes! I have one coming up that’s told from the Beast’s perspective!
Oooh, which one is that?
The Beast’s Heart!
Thanks!
Same here! This looks absolutely amazing! Hope you love it💖
Thanks, I hope you do too!
I’ve been waiting on this one forever! Hurry up book!
I don’t think we have too much longer to wait. 🙂
I’ve seen the title going around the book community, but this is the first time I’ve sat myself down to read the synopsis. Color me intrigued!
Right? I can’t wait to check it put and see how it is. 🙂
I’ve been really looking forward to this one as well! I love the cover and I’m always up for another Beauty and the Beast retelling.
Same to all of that. 😀
I can’t resist a B&tB retelling and I love the cover for this one. And, not too long a wait.
Lynn 😀
