Well, yesterday was the first time in a long time that I missed a day posting. Can’t say I regret it because I clearly needed a bit of a break. Life last week was hectic and full of anxiety. This week I still have some things to deal with, lots of stuff I’m worrying about–all of it out of my control at the moment, but I hope to get back to posting as usual this week. And blog hopping. I’m sorry everyone–I haven’t forgotten about you all, I promise. Thanks for stopping by here with your words of encouragement , and on twitter, while I’ve been feeling down and dealing with life stuff. I really appreciate it. ❤
It was really nice and cool out this weekend, finally. Fall has arrived! I sat on my porch much of the day Saturday. I made some decent headway with Master of the World, which I’ve been reading for a little while now, then read Silver in the Wood by Emily Tesh (such a lovely read), and then started This Is How You Lose the Time War by Amal El-Mohtar and Max Gladstone (another great read). These weren’t planned reads last week but I needed something to lift my mood. I really wanted to squeeze in To Be Taught, If Fortunate by Becky Chambers as well and sort of make it a novella-thon, but it just didn’t work out. I got distracted by some dramas, whoops. So, it remains in the TBR pile but hopefully will be crossed off my list soon-ish.
This week I won’t be making any firm plans other than the two books I’m currently reading. What’s that you say, no plans? Lisa, surely you’ve gone off the deep end. Well, no. I’ll be reading books from my Autumn TBR pile, anything I haven’t crossed off is fair game.
I will be finishing up City of Lies by Sam Hawke, I’m more than halfway though that one and enjoying it a lot. I didn’t expect it to be a book about a siege, but I kind of love sieges so I’m happy with that.
I’ll also be finishing up Master of the World by Edward Willett. I’m also more than halfway through this one and I have lots of disjointed thoughts so far, but we’ll see how the rest of this book goes. 😀
What I HOPE to be reading soon: more print books from the TBR, my October HEA book club BOTM, books for review–since those are all most pressing. But, we’ll see where my reading whim takes me. Let the books fall where they may. 🙂 What are your reading plans this week? Leave me a note in the comments, I’d love to chat!
