The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.
Random News And Goings-On
Well, the other day I had a bit of an epiphany that the reason I’ve been struggling with some of my reading / blogging is because I’ve been falling into my usual pattern of seasonal change depression / anxiety. You’d think I’d be used to this by now, but nope. Maybe I’m just optimistic that ‘this year will be different’ so I never expect it. Or more likely am in a strong state of denial. Either way, here we are. I’m doing my best to power through and not let my mind and body get the best of me but I will probably have some more ‘off days’ in the next month or so until my mood stabilizes a bit. Yay. O.o
Alright, on to less dire sounding things. Last weekend my husband and I went to a book reading / book signing for Sarah Pinsker’s debut novel, A Song For a New Day. It was a good time! Got to see some folks I haven’t talked to since May at Balticon and had some nice chats. It was also super nice outside, so it was great to get outside of the house and do a bit of walking around.
Yesterday we had our last session for our DnD campaign that’s been ongoing for the last year. It was pretty much an all day thing – nearly 7 hours of DnD – because we wanted to wrap everything up in one last session instead of dragging it out into two. It was a really fun time, even though I’m a bit sad that chapter is closed. We had a lot of fun though! We saved the world, my husband’s character pansted the villain in mid-speech, we went up against a 100 person army and somehow beat them all….good times.
Plans for today include trying to catch up on laundry, stay afloat with blogging stuff, and maybe finish watching the last season of Elementary. We have a crab feast to go to tonight with some friends from my husband’s work. After yesterday’s extroverting, this introvert really wants to stay in but also the Marylander in me is saying ‘but the crabs, go for the crabs….’
New Book Arrivals at Way Too Fantasy
Two more of my pre-orders came in this week! First up is Siege and Sacrifice by Charlie N. Holmberg, the last book in her Numina Trilogy. Have been enjoying this series and I’m really looking forward to the conclusion. Next we have Bloodlust & Bonnets by Emily McGovern. This graphic novel looks like a cracking good time and I’m very excited to dive in, hopefully soon. 🙂
Nothing else new for books this week, it’s been a bit of a light week in acquisitions (my wallet says ‘thanks’).
Posts to Check Out from the Book Blogging Community
Well, I have absolutely been terrible about blog hopping this week, I’m sorry everyone! I’m hoping to get all caught up again this week and get back to sharing some posts on here next Sunday.
That’s the news for this week, see you next time!
