This Week in Reading: Keeping Up the Momentum

Well, last week I had a pretty great week in reading. I finished up four books (four!!) and am working my way through two others. I started off great finishing up Fledgling, but then had a bit of a crisis mid week when I realized that a new Vampire Knitting Club book was out and I was also sent an eARC of A Magical Inheritance, a book I’ve been looking forward to for the last year. I found myself momentarily paralyzed by wanting to read ALL OF THE BOOKS. Hah. So, I wound up puttingย Straight Outta Fangton on hold for a bit and plowed through the other two. Whoops! So much for plans (I am terrible at sticking to reading plans, everyone should be used to this by now, lol). I also completed Angels’ Blood, which I really enjoyed. Hopefully will have reviews of all these out soon, although now I’m behind on reviews because it was either spend time reading or writing reviews and obviously I chose reading. ๐Ÿ™‚ย  I’m hoping I can spend some free time at lunch during work to do some blogging, but we’ll see.

I’m going for another ambitious week but I really do have to catch up on blog posts and blog hopping so how much reading time I get in is going to depend on how creative I get with my time.

I’m about halfway through Straight Outta Fangton by C.T. Phipps. This one has been a lot of fun so far. If everything goes according to plan, I should be able to finish this up mid-week at the latest.

Then I’ll finally get to dig into Mist, Metal, and Ash by Gwendolyn Clare. Again, I think this one should be a relatively quick read and I imagine I’ll be able to get through it in a couple of days as long as I get my reading time in. Luckily I have absolutely no plans for this weekend (so far).

I’m only about three hours away from finishing up the audiobook of Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett. Loving revisiting this book! The narration is fantastic, too.

Next up in audio is The Night Tiger by Yangsze Choo. I have a hardback copy of this, but I put an audiobook copy on hold from my library because I tend to have a lot more freedom with my audiobooks, being able to bump things up in queue. Anyway, really been looking forward to this one because I loved The Ghost Bride by her. My audiobook hold auto checked out and the timing works well since I am just finishing up another book. ๐Ÿ™‚

Lastly, if I have time, I’ll probably start Fog Season by Patrice Sareth. I enjoyed the first book of this series and I’m curious to see what the sequel is like. I admit it’s also a book I have on my ‘tbr in 2019’ list since it’s a sequel and I’m trying (kind of) to stay caught up on sequels and finish more series. (I’m doing pretty terrible at this so far this year, I’ll admit.)

So, those are my plans, such as they are. Also, I am really going to try and get caught up on blog hopping this week too. I’m sorry I’ve gotten so far behind! What is everyone else reading this week? Thoughts on my reading list? Leave a note in the comments, I’d love to chat!ย

Four books is amazing! I feel like it’s a victory if I can get two read๐Ÿ˜ Hey, when you have awesome books to read I guess it’s easy. I’m struggling to get into my current read and I just hate that!

Yeah, i think a lot if it had to do with the books. Ugh, struggling with a book is awful. Like, you have to finish it but then you keep putting it off a bit because you’re not into it…yuck. Hope your next read is better!

Good job on four books! (Even if they weren’t the ones you planned ๐Ÿ˜‰ ) I haven’t gotten any reading done this month so far because I have been binge watching Game of Thrones ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿคฆ

Well, that is also a good choice. I was supposed to be blogging when I got home from work yesterday but binged watched a bunch of Mozart in the Jungle instead so it happens lol.

I’m almost finished The Night Tiger and I’ve really been enjoying it so far. I know what you mean about ignoring ARCs…I don’t have any overdue (ok one) but I still have review requests I need to get through, at least I am getting them done now and then but it’s slow progress. I’m there with ya sighing lol.
