This Week in Reading: More Playing Catch-Up

Well, I had a pretty good week last week, but I did go off schedule again which put me behind in my ‘official’ reading. Hmm. :/Β  I finished up both Rabbit & Robot (so weird! but I loved it) and Small Favor. I also read The Lady’s Guide to Petticoats and Piracy by Mackenzi Lee, and Exit Strategy by Martha Wells. Totally worth going off-schedule for though. πŸ˜€ So, yeah, I read several books, just not all the books I was supposed to be reading. Whoops!

First up I’ll be reading The Exercise of Vital Powers by Ian Grigoire. This is a review request. I am only barely into it, a few pages really, but it seems pretty interesting so far.

On audio I am finishing up The Last Testament of Loki by Joanne Harris. I’m a little more than halfway through this one and it’s been so much fun! I’ll probably finish up this in the next day or so.

After I finish up Loki the next audio I’ll be starting is Of Noble Family by Mary Robinette Kowal. One of my reading goals this year has been to work on finishing up some outstanding series, and this is the last book in the Glamourist Histories. (Let’s just ignore how many new series I’ve started this year, ok?)

Lastly, I hope to be starting Blood of Heirs by Alicia Wanstall-Burke. This one is an eARC copy I received from the author (Thanks, Alicia!) and I’ve heard great things from a couple of fellow reviewers, so I’m very much looking forward to this one.

So, another full reading week! I don’t think I’ll have any issues finishing up the audio books (well, that’s what I said last week too, so we’ll see, hah), but I may be going into next week with Blood of Heirs. I guess I’ll see how things fall out!

That’s my plan for this week, what’s everyone else reading? Leave a note in the comments, I’d love to hear from you!

  1. Sounds like you had a fantastic week! I have a lot of review books to read but I also went off my schedule because I wanted to read The Silent Companions. I’m so glad I did, because its SUPER creepy😁

  2. All the Glamourist Histories! I just finished reading book one at the beginning of last month, and really need to get on the ball and read the rest of the series. It was way better than what I was expecting, though I’m hoping for more magical build up as the series progresses!

I’ve read about seven books this past week, two of them just over 500 pages (one of which you know already, helping me fix an error, and thanks for that!), and the rest of them over 300 pages, which isn’t bad.

You have now added more books to my TBR pile as well, the Testament of Loki looks fun, and the others all look intriguing!

    1. I think the Glamourist Histories just get better as they go alone. I liked the first one well enough but it wasn’t enough to sell me on the series. They really do pick up later and the magic gets more involved.

      Seven books, wow! That’s impressive!

The Loki books are really fun, hope you enjoy!
