New Arrivals! Audible Sale Mini-Book Haul

Hey guys! As some of you may have noticed, I listen to a ton of audio books. So many that I’m on the 2 credits a month plan from audible and still supplementing with library loans. I just go through a ton on audio due to my commute and being able to listen at work. Anywho. I also like to pick up a bunch of books when audible runs sales and right now they’re running a fantastic Science Fiction and Fantasy sale that ends on Aug 2nd, so of course I picked up a few new audibooks! This actually turned out to be great because I’ve had some of these on my list for a while now. Yay, sale! Sorry for the two posts in one day, but wanted to get the word out about the sale in case some of you wanted to check it out. 🙂

  • Jade City by Fonda Lee – This is the only one I was on the fence about but it was such a good deal I couldn’t pass it up. I’ve heard nothing but good things by friends that have read it and I’m intrigued by the concept and setting.
  • The Gospel of Loki by Joanne M. Harris – This is one that I hadn’t come across until I saw it on someone else’s blog. Thought it looked fun. I like stories about gods and I love the character of Loki especially. I did name my cat Loki after all. 😀
  • The Spirit Thief by Rachel Aaron – A talented and charming thief? Count me in. I’ve read several of Rachel Aaron’s books now and loved them so I’m sure I’ll like this one too. I’ve had this recommended to me by a couple of people now so when I saw it on sale I couldn’t pass on it.
  • The City of Brass by S. A. Chakraborty – A historical fantasy set in Cairo full of magic, a mystical city, court politics…yes please. I can’t see myself not loving this book. I had actually started this as an ebook at one point but my digital loan ran out from the library. What little I had read, I really enjoyed the writing style and story so far. Can’t wait to get back to it.
  • Daughter of the Forest by Juliet Marillier – I really love Juliet Marillier’s writing! She writes such wonderful characters and puts so much emotion into her work. I thought I had read this one years ago, but I think I just picked up a copy and never got around to it. No time like the present to change that!
  • Spinning Silver by Naomi Novik – This wasn’t part of the sale, I just used my last credit of the month to pick it up. 😀 I absolutely loved Uprooted, and I love retold fairy tales to begin with so I’m pretty sure I’m going to love Spinning Silver as well. Been looking forward to this one!

  1. What a great haul! I’m not much of an audiobook listener myself, but if I were I would have definitely taken advantage of this sale, haha. I really loved Spinning Silver, and Jade City was really interesting as well! I’ve been hoping to check out Juliet Marillier sometime because I’ve heard some really wonderful things about her and she sounds like just my style. I hope you enjoy all of these!

    1. Thanks! I wasn’t much of an audiobook listener until a few years ago. It took some time to get used to the format and sometimes I still have trouble with some books myself, haha.

  2. Yay! I am glad you decided to do two posts in one day to let us know about this! I had no idea and I love Audible sales I will go check it out now! Great haul! I hope you love Spinning Silver!

  3. I ALMOST bought daughter of the forest but decided to hold off for now. Had it been 5 instead of 7 then maybe. 🙂 City of Brass has been popping up on my radar quite a bit, so I’m def looking forward to your thoughts on that one. Also – yay for Eli Monpress!
