New WtF cast Wednesday: Alternate History

This week on Way too Fantasy we’re talking about alternate history. What if the axis powers had won WWII instead of the allies? Welcome to the genre that asks these questions:  what if this event happened differently, and how would the world be changed because of it?

We’ll be talking about the big picture of alternate history fiction, as well as bringing up some specific works including The Man in the High Castle by Philip K Dick, For Want of a Nail by Robert Sobel, and Fatherland by Robert Harris, just to name a few. Quentin Tarantino’s film Inglourious Basterds and the television show Sliders will round out the discussion. So don’t forget to join in, 9pm ET on Wednesday, on our channel. We hope you can make it!

Also, just a reminder, our new issue comes out tomorrow morning, 9am. So be on the lookout for that. Don’t forget, our submissions guidelines have been updated, so check them out. Don’t be afraid to send something in, even if it’s just a comment or a question. We promise we don’t bite. Much.

Quite excited about both of these things, actually. I’ve always admired how alternate history is perhaps the most accepted form of speculative fiction in the lit fiction world.

WtF do you think?
