WtF a Broadcast Episode #6: Fairytale Fantasy

Yesterday we got together and discussed fairytale fantasy. We went over fairytale origin stories vs modern retellings, archtypes vs charcterization, and the bowdlerization of fairytales. Some of our favorite authors that write in the genre were discussed including Robin McKinley, Tanith Lee, Gregory Maguire, and Joyce Carol Oates. Also, we mentioned some movies, manga, and even boardgames based on fairytales. Watch the webcast for a rousing discussion on fairytales.
